J. Franklin was born Samuel Franklin in 1985 in Augusta, Georgia. Throughout his childhood he lived in Virginia, California, Arizona, Georgia and now resides in Colorado. Because of living in some many places has cited artists from many regions as major influences to his abilities, such as E-40, Dr.Dre, Jay-Z and outkast.

He has contributed to various mix tapes for local artists trying to create a buzz in northern California, Arizona and Texas and has now teamed up with CO rapper Mellow D. With lyrics few can match it’s only a matter of time before the entire country becomes a part of the movement that’s about to begin.

He favorite saying is “it’s not where you from it’s where you at”.
